Job summary

Corning is seeking a leader to drive a diverse team of engineers in a fast-paced manufacturing setting focused on quality, safety, and cost reduction. You will mentor technical talent, apply MIE/MEE/DMAIC methods, and manage budgets while advancing fiber optic and cabling processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with R&D and manufacturing to protect IP and accelerate improvements. The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering, 4+ years in manufacturing leadership, and 2+ years using data tools

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
• 2+ years of functional leadership and project management experience in manufacturing with data analysis and Six Sigma.
• 4+ years in manufacturing with cross-functional leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• 2+ years experience with data and statistical tools (Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and prioritize support to the cable manufacturing operation to maximize performance and minimize costs.
• Set department objectives and allocate resources per business priorities or conditions.
• Engage with Development to maintain awareness of technology inventory in R&D and protect IP.
• Ensure processes are used rigorously: Innovation, Process Excellence, Project Management, Safety/Environmental.
• Use DMAIC, Six Sigma, MEE, MIE, and KT for problem solving and budgeting.
• Develop equipment and process strategies with life-cycle considerations.
• Sponsor or lead cost reduction and new product initiatives.
