Job summary

Cengage is seeking a senior leader to steer the Portfolio Management team and our content development leaders across more than 1,000 online programs. You’ll drive growth, profitability, and strategic alignment with market and customer needs.

Leadersh ip will involve building investment frameworks, partnering with Finance and executives to optimize revenue growth, margins, and long-term value in a fast-moving edtech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a large portfolio or product organization with revenue accountability.
• Strong business and financial acumen using data to make investment decisions.
• Proven ability to develop portfolio strategies that drive growth and competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Portfolio Management team and the content development team who own our online course catalog.
• Build insight into portfolio performance, market dynamics, customer needs, and opportunities.
• Identify and prioritize growth, content modernization, partnerships, and optimization opportunities.
• Establish investment frameworks for build, buy, partner, expand, or exit decisions.
• Guide portfolio lifecycle management balancing growth and maintenance of catalog.
• Use data to evaluate performance and inform investments as part of finance collaboration.
• Coordinate performance reviews providing access to results, risks, and strategic tradeoffs.
