Job summary

Cengage is seeking a Portfolio Manager on the Milady Content and Learning Team to shape portfolio strategy by audience insight, market trends, and data-driven decisions.

You will lead cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality learning experiences, articulate portfolio value, and drive adoption with authors and content creators across higher education, K12, and professional learning markets.

Qualifications

• BA or BS Degree.
• Minimum 5 years in portfolio/product management, product development, sales, marketing, or other relevant management role.
• Strong communication skills with ability to facilitate meetings and present to senior audiences.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead a profitable line of content offerings and develop strategic business plans.
• Provide leadership representing the portfolio and customers across audiences.
• Use data to make market-informed proposals and guide strategic decisions.
• Develop deep market mastery to align business plans with corporate strategy.
• Translate priorities into end-to-end development plans with budgets and milestones.
• Direct project teams to ensure timely delivery of content offerings within scope and budget.
• Foster creativity and collaboration across functional areas.
• Deliver quality learning experiences to students and instructors.
• Establish and maintain relationships with authors and content creators to gain customer insights.
• Develop understanding of competitors and anticipate activity.
• Test portfolio ideas via focus groups and advisory boards as appropriate.
• Analyze portfolio plans to align forecasting with progress toward goals.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to seed adoptions.
