Job summary

BoxPower is seeking a Head of Microgrid Controls to own the controls platform, guide architecture, and lead a growing team. You will drive development from IC work to people leadership, aligning with project roadmaps and client requirements.

You will engage with FAT/SAT, integrate DERs (solar, BESS, generators), and push AI-enhanced workflows across design, testing, and documentation. Travel 10–25% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong controls background.
• 8+ years in controls engineering, microgrid, or power automation.
• Proven platform/architecture ownership beyond project delivery.
• Hands-on PLC/automation controller programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve BoxPower controls architecture for scalability.
• Lead development across PLC/RTAC, HMIs, and SCADA platforms.
• Guide integration with DERs and on-site commissioning.
• Build and mentor a controls engineering team as growth occurs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align roadmaps and delivery.
