Job summary

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) seeks a strategic Vice President of Membership to lead the Membership Department in Washington, DC. This senior role focuses on developing growth and retention strategies, guiding outreach efforts, and ensuring excellent member experience across the membership lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Marketing, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in a leadership/senior management role in a professional association (health care preferred).
• 5+ years in strategic planning, talent management, and managing budgets over $4M.
• 5+ years supervisory experience.
• CAE designation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Membership Department with strategic direction and priorities.
• Oversee member acquisition through outreach, campaigns, partnerships, and engagement.
• Ensure high member value and ongoing engagement throughout the lifecycle.
• Oversee membership operations for excellence and service.
• Use data to inform decisions and drive growth.
• Collaborate with leadership to align staff with member needs across the association.
