Job summary

Sysco in Illinois seeks an experienced operations leader to oversee plant production, directing department managers across cut, prep, packaging and warehouse. You will stay involved in processes, understand department needs, and drive food safety, employee safety, and high-quality yield with efficiency.

You will partner with management to improve operations, manage costs, and lead strategic decisions on equipment, staffing and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's preferred
• Four years leadership in meat processing
• Strong leadership capabilities

Responsibilities

• Manage plant production and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
• Coordinate with all departments to address operational challenges.
• Direct, monitor, and appraise performance of areas reporting to you.
• Maintain qualified personnel in production and advise on compensation.
• Participate with the management team to develop business strategies and policy.
• Provide input on costs related to labor, equipment, and supplies.
• Collaborate with sales and merchandising on product development and meat knowledge.
• Assist with customer inquiries to resolve problems.
• Provide analysis to president as requested.
• Approve major projects or personnel changes with payback justification.
