Job summary

Helion in Everett, WA seeks a Manager, Machine Maintenance and Integration to lead maintenance engineers and shift managers. You will own work control, maintenance, and reliability programs, balancing urgent repairs with preventive work in a fast-paced experimental setting.

You will collaborate with Operations on repairs and upgrades, build scalable processes, enforce safety, and drive data-driven maintenance using history and metrics to maximize machine availability.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people-management experience leading technicians, engineers, supervisors, or technical leads across shifts
• 5+ years in maintenance, engineering, or operations in a fast-paced facility
• Ability to translate changing priorities into realistic work plans including equipment modifications/upgrades
• Hands-on hardware installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning; ability to read technical drawings
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout, energy control, work permits, configuration management, and change management
• Experience with preventive maintenance, reliability programs, and CMMS to surface risks and tradeoffs
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop maintenance engineers and shift managers; ensure effective coverage and onboarding
• Own maintenance work-control program from intake through closeout and return to service
• Collaborate with Operations to prioritize repairs, upgrades, and integration work; manage schedules, spares, vendors, and contractors
• Foster a strong safety culture with stop-work authority, briefs, and permits
• Build data-driven preventive maintenance using history, failure analysis, and performance metrics
• Oversee upgrades and integration readiness from scope to turnover across multiple machines
