Job summary

Helion Energy in Everett, WA is seeking a Manager, Machine Maintenance and Integration to lead engineers and technicians, ensuring machines stay ready for operation in a demanding experimental environment. You will own maintenance programs, plan and prioritize work, and drive upgrades across multiple fusion machines.

You will champion safety, manage a data-driven reliability program, and collaborate with Operations to balance repairs with preventive maintenance and integration readiness.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of people-management experience across technicians, engineers, or leads.
• 5+ years in maintenance, engineering, or operations within a complex facility.
• Translate changing priorities into realistic work plans and upgrades.
• Hands-on with hardware installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout, permits, configuration management, and change management.
• Experience with preventive maintenance, reliability, and failure investigations using CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance engineers and technician shift managers, ensuring coverage and onboarding.
• Own the machine maintenance and work-control program from intake through return to service.
• Partner with Operations to prioritize repairs, PMs, upgrades, and integration work; manage schedules, resources, spares, vendors, and contractors.
• Champion safety through stop-work authority, pre-job briefs, energy controls, and permits.
• Develop a data-driven PM and reliability program using history, failure analysis, and metrics.
• Oversee machine upgrades and integration readiness across multiple experimental machines.
