Job summary

AmeriGas Propane, Inc. in King of Prussia, PA, seeks a senior Learning and Development leader to own company-wide training programs.

You will manage the full learning life cycle, from needs analysis to measurement, and lead safety, technical, business acuity, and regulatory training teams. You will develop instructor-led, e-learning, and blended curricula, supervise staff, ensure regulatory alignment with DOT and FMCSA requirements, and partner with operations to improve workforce capability,

Qualifications

• Proven team leadership.
• Ability to design, write, and produce training in e-learning, instructor-led, and blended formats.
• Strong interpersonal skills with employees at all levels, including enforcing training policy in field operations.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a record of influencing change across functions.
• Strong project organization skills to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Proficient with authoring tools, LMS platforms, and multimedia software for content, reports, and analysis.
• Advanced problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Process improvement mindset and root cause analysis ability.

Responsibilities

• Leads the training team in building technical and job-specific training, onboarding programs, and KPIs for safety, technical, and regulatory requirements.
• Works with organizational leadership to understand business needs and sets a multi-year learning strategy that delivers the desired performance outcomes.
• Coaches the training team with clear goals and metrics and holds them accountable for results.
• Keeps the business leadership team informed of changes, trends, and strategies.
• Identifies the critical skills and capabilities needed to meet business goals and grow the training pipeline.
• Designs engaging training materials that meet technical and required standards.
• Applies effective coaching methods to support employee growth.
• Keeps curriculum current with changes in learning design, regulations, and the industry.
• Maintains training records so all certification, refresher, and recertification cycles are met.
• Adapts curriculum to stay compliant and close knowledge gaps.
• Measures training and onboarding effectiveness through assessments, behavior change, and business impact.
• Makes improvements to the employee experience and to knowledge transfer.
• Works with field leaders to understand how work gets done and find more efficient ways to do common tasks.
• Manages the annual training budget.
• Runs cost-benefit analyses on technology, travel, and vendor spend.
• Keeps training schedules and programs practical, economical, and within budget.
• Reviews training contracts for programs, platforms, and support with Procurement.
• Provides technical expertise to departments that build training for AmeriGas field locations.
