Job summary

Amentum seeks a Department Manager for Infrastructure Services at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. This is a leadership role overseeing engineers and software staff, guiding infrastructure systems critical to spaceflight missions and operations.

You will shape workforce plans, drive process improvements, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability across NASA and contractor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with minimum 5 years in spaceflight operations, software engineering, or mission support.
• Proven leadership of technical teams, projects, or organizations in mission-critical environments.
• Ability to drive change, foster collaboration, and deliver results under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direct supervision of engineers, software developers, and team leads.
• Staff and integrate a blended NASA/contractor department to achieve mission objectives.
• Set priorities, assign work, manage resources, and monitor progress.
• Provide technical and organizational direction for system support and infrastructure engineering.
• Develop workforce plans to ensure skills and staffing for current and future missions.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees with on-the-job training and stretch assignments.
