Job summary

The Atlas, Boston’s first-of-its-kind hotel operated by Highgate Hotels, invites an experienced Director of Housekeeping to lead the department with a guest‑first mindset. You will manage daily operations, coach staff, and ensure inspection routines for rooms and public areas to meet the Highgate standard.

Responsibilities include vendor coordination, interviewing, staffing, and maintaining safety and quality standards across housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
• Previous management experience required.
• Proficient in Windows, company-approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner.
• Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline housekeeping personnel according to Highgate Hotel SOPs.
• Establish and maintain a regularly scheduled cleaning program and detailed checklists for each position.
• Maintain and control housekeeping equipment and supplies.
• Prepare and conduct all Housekeeping interviews and follow hiring procedures.
• Develop employee morale and ensure training of Housekeeping personnel.
• Inspect rooms daily and VIP rooms prior to arrival.
