Job summary

Arc Boat Company in Torrance, CA is seeking a VP of Engineering to define and build core hardware platforms for electric boating, working with the CTO to lead battery, powertrain, electrical, electromechanical, and vehicle platforms across consumer and commercial vessels.

You will shape the engineering organization, recruit leaders, balance performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule, and partner with Operations, Software, and Sales to deliver industry‑defining products.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary hardware engineering organizations from early architecture to high-volume production.
• Strong systems-level understanding of battery systems, electrical architecture, powertrain, electromechanical systems, and hardware-software integration.
• Proven track record in recruiting top engineering talent, coaching leaders, and fostering ownership and continuous improvement.
• Experience defining long-term technology roadmaps and platform strategies enabling multiple products or vehicle applications.
• Ability to balance customer experience, rigor, manufacturability, reliability, cost, schedule, and business objectives in product decisions.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills with cross-functional alignment and executive stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead Arc's Hardware Engineering organization across R&D, product development, sustaining engineering, and responsible engineering.
• Define the vision and roadmap for battery, electrical, powertrain, electromechanical, structural, and vehicle platforms.
• Recruit exceptional leaders and create a culture of ownership, high standards, and relentless execution.
• Collaborate with executives to identify opportunities and deliver industry-defining products balancing UX, performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Simplify products and processes to reduce complexity and accelerate development with durable competitive advantages.
• Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Software, Manufacturing, and Sales to ensure lifecycle support and continuous product improvement.
