Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Director of GTM AI Engineering to lead hands-on AI development and shape the GTM AI platform for Sales, Customer Success, and Support. This remote role can be fulfilled by candidates in the US, with a strong emphasis on building agents, copilots, and governance for enterprise AI workflows.

You will balance 70% hands-on prototyping and 30% strategic leadership, driving architectural decisions, evaluation disciplines, and stakeholder alignment for high-impact AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across software engineering, machine learning, data science, or data platforms with leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM applications and agentic workflows to production.
• Production full-stack and cloud engineering experience (Python or TypeScript, AWS, and Databricks).
• Experience designing and running evaluation frameworks for LLM or agent systems.
• Daily, fluent use of AI agents and coding assistants in your own work.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, ship, and iterate on AI agents, copilots, and workflow automations for GTM teams.
• Own the architecture of the shared GTM AI platform: orchestration, LLM and tool gateways, identity and access, and SDK contracts.
• Design evaluation frameworks for agent and LLM behavior with datasets and eval results.
• Lead with AI day to day using agents and coding assistants in your own work.
• Track models and tool ecosystems; advise on what to adopt and what to test for GTM use cases.
• Drive field adoption with demos and real feedback from Sales, CS, and Support.
• Set the strategy for GTM AI, including data foundations, governance, and observability.
• Manage model routing and per-user spend controls to align AI cost with value.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, Enablement, Product, and Engineering.
