Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Director of GTM AI Engineering to lead the AI Engineering team for GTM and work closely with Data Science, Analytics, and Data Engineering to empower Sales and Customer Success. This remote role in the US focuses on building AI agents, copilots, and workflow automations that improve efficiency and decision-making across GTM teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across software engineering, ML, data science, or data platforms with leadership experience.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM applications and agentic workflows to production.
• Production full-stack and cloud engineering experience (Python/TypeScript, AWS, Databricks).
• Designed and ran evaluation frameworks for LLM or agent systems to drive quality decisions.
• Daily use of AI agents and coding assistants in own work and a point of view on their impact.
• Track record of shipping AI/ML products with measurable business impact.
• Experience with predictive modeling, experimentation, analytics, and data engineering foundations.
• Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous problems into simple, valuable solutions.
• Excellent communication with executives and frontline users; ability to demo to a sales floor and present to a VP.
• People-first leadership, hiring, developing, and keeping strong technical talent.

Responsibilities

• Prototype, ship, and iterate on AI agents, copilots, and workflow automations for GTM teams.
• Own the architecture of the shared GTM AI platform: orchestration, LLM gateways, identity and access, MCP and SDK contracts.
• Design evaluation frameworks and run them in development and production; use results to guide fixes and improvements.
• Lead with AI day to day; build shared tooling and patterns that speed the team.
• Track models and tool ecosystems; make practical recommendations for GTM use cases and build-versus-buy options.
• Advocate for AI across Sales, CS, and Support; run demos and gather field feedback.
• Set the strategy for GTM AI, data foundations, instrumentation, governance, and observability.
• Own forecasting, propensity, and CRM data-quality work for sales leadership.
