Job summary

Samsara is seeking a Director, GTM AI Engineering to lead hands-on AI engineering for GTM. You will prototype AI agents, build a shared AI platform, and set evaluation frameworks, while guiding a team and influencing stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across software engineering, ML, data science, or data platforms with leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping LLM applications and agentic workflows to production.
• Production full-stack and cloud engineering (Python/TypeScript, AWS, Databricks).
• Designing and running evaluation frameworks for LLM/agent systems.
• Daily, fluent use of AI agents and coding assistants in your own work.
• Shipping internal or customer-facing AI/ML products with measurable business impact.
• Experience with CRM, customer data, support, and knowledge-management systems (Salesforce, Gong, Gainsight, Zendesk).
• Experience with agent SDKs and harnesses (Claude, OpenAI Agents SDK, LangGraph).
• Operating AI products at scale including cost management, monitoring, governance.
• Visible habit of learning in public (writing/talks/open-source).

Responsibilities

• Build hands-on, prototype, ship, and iterate on AI agents, copilots, and workflows for GTM teams.
• Own the architecture of the shared GTM AI platform: orchestration, LLM gateways, identity, SDK contracts.
• Design evaluation frameworks for agent/LLM behavior and run them in dev and prod.
• Lead with AI day-to-day using agents and coding assistants; build shared tooling and harnesses.
• Track models, frameworks, and tool ecosystems; recommend build vs buy for GTM use cases.
• Drive adoption with the field; demos and feedback to turn skeptics into power users.
• Set the strategy for GTM AI, data foundations, governance, and observability.
• Ship revenue-critical intelligence: forecasting, propensity, and CRM data quality.
• Partner across GTM, Product, and Engineering to define success metrics and durable products.
• Build for trust with responsible-AI practices and governance.
• Champion Samsara cultural principles across global teams.
