Job summary

Simbe, Inc. in San Francisco is seeking a Director of FP&A to own financial planning, forecasting, and the financial story presented to the Board and investors.

This hands-on, high-visibility role requires building an IPO-ready FP&A function, owning the 3-statement model, leading budgets and forecasts, and driving data-driven decision-making with cross-functional leadership. You will push AI/automation in forecasting and reporting, partner with Sales, Ops, Manufacturing, and Product, and manage

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership, in a high growth technology company.
• Experience owning a company-wide financial model and running scenario analysis for executive decision-making.
• Experience with cash forecasting, cash collection cycle management, and disciplined cash management.
• Strong, direct communicator who can partner cross-functionally and with executive leadership.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools (Looker, Tableau).
• Experience managing venture debt or banking relationships.
• Experience with S&OP or similar processes linking operating and financial plans.
• Experience with hardware/SaaS/ hardware-as-a-service business models; robotics a plus.
• Venture-backed or private-equity-backed company experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI tooling to finance, accounting, or tax workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the 3-statement financial model; run scenario analysis to guide decisions.
• Lead the annual budget and quarterly re-forecast cycle across departments; track actuals vs. budget monthly.
• Own the cash forecast; maintain rolling cash view and tighten cash monitoring.
• Build monthly/quarterly financial reporting package and contribute to Board deck.
• Support fundraising strategy, preparation, and due-diligence with data room maintenance.
• Represent Finance in S&P process and define vital metrics; manage the balanced scorecard.
• Drive insights from data and push changes in pricing, spend, or operations to improve results.
• Partner with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Product leaders to pressure-test numbers.
• Advance FP&A platform adoption and push AI/automation into forecasting and reporting.
