Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a QA leader to manage the quality department, drive food safety and regulatory compliance, and partner with plant operations on continuous improvement. The role emphasizes leadership, audits, and robust QA programs across the facility.

You will investigate nonconformances, lead corrective actions, oversee laboratory and QA records, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to maintain product safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food science/biological sciences or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5–8 years of quality assurance in a food, beverage, or similar facility.
• Leadership experience; PCQI/HACCP/SQF certifications preferred; regulatory familiarity.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage the quality department to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain audit readiness and robust food safety and quality programs.
• Investigate nonconformances and drive root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee laboratory and plant QC activities and data analysis for KPIs.
• Coordinate with operations on preventive maintenance, sanitation, and pest control.
• Review records for preventive controls, sanitation, and verification checks daily.
• Partner with R&D during product introductions to ensure specs and regs are met.
• Provide training on FSMA, regulatory requirements, and quality systems.
• Support annual budgeting and identify capital projects for quality initiatives.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints and supplier QoC issues.
• Escalate issues to quality director and plant manager as needed.
