Job summary

Bay Harbor Yacht Club in Petoskey, MI is seeking a hands-on Director of Facilities to lead maintenance and grounds across club property. You will oversee preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and coordinate with leadership on renovations and capital projects.

The ideal candidate has strong project management skills, extensive building systems knowledge, and proven supervisory experience in a fast-paced, service-focused environment. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in the field or related areas.
• College degree in Facilities Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years supervisory/management experience in related field preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
• 3-5 years experience in Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and Carpentry Maintenance and Repair.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work closely with Facilities and Technology committee.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize work activities within project and operations.
• Ability to manage and track multiple budget lines.
• Strong interpersonal skills required.
• Possess extensive knowledge of commercial building systems including preventative maintenance programs and routine repairs, mechanical and electrical.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs across clubhouse and buildings.
• Oversee maintenance, repair, painting, replacement, fabrication, installation, alteration and design of facility components.
• Act as contact for fire, flood and emergencies, including storm preparation oversight.
• Maintain detailed reports of inspections of equipment and licenses, and records for audits.
• Establish equipment service schedules and maintenance logs for all mechanical and kitchen equipment.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and the IT Manager to vet and implement new technologies.
• Attend Club Committee Meetings related to Facilities.
• Create daily and weekly maintenance team schedules.
• Liaise with outside contractors and monitor project statuses and timelines.
• Conduct training for new employees and skilled trades.
• Monitor staff to complete internal preventive maintenance timely.
• Diagnose issues and arrange subcontractors as needed.
• Assess capital improvement needs and solicit bids.
• Work with Events team to set up and tear down events.
• Manage multiple facilities budget lines; submit invoices monthly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
