Job summary

Sarasota Yacht Club, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Staff member to keep the clubhouse, docks, marina, and grounds in excellent condition. You will perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and cleaning across facilities, including event support and basic upkeep of pools and outdoor areas.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with a focus on safety, reliability, and a welcoming member experience. Evening and weekend availability is required, and prior maintenance experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Clear English communication, verbal and written.
• Prior experience in building or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work.
• Marina or waterfront maintenance experience a plus but not required.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Physical tasks: bending, lifting, carrying, climbing (up to 50 lbs).
• Evenings and weekends availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, docks, marina structures, and equipment.
• Assist with painting, carpentry, and light structural repairs as needed.
• Maintain outdoor areas: mowing, trimming, weeding, leaf removal, landscaping.
• Clean and keep club facilities orderly: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, windows.
• Maintain pool areas and equipment upkeep and cleaning.
• Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events or seasonal use.
• Support other departments with moving supplies or light transport.
• Respond to maintenance requests as directed by club management.
• Perform other general duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, weeding, leaf removal, and general landscaping tasks.
• Keep club facilities clean and orderly through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and window cleaning.
• Maintain pool areas and equipment, including basic upkeep and cleaning.
• Help set up and take down furniture and equipment for events or seasonal use.
• Support other departments with physical tasks such as moving supplies or light transport of materials.
• Respond to maintenance – related issues or requests as directed by the club management.
• Perform other general duties as assigned.
