Symetra seeks a senior procurement leader to own the enterprise function, setting strategy, governance, and a value-driven operating model across policy, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and technology.

You will partner with Law, Finance, Technology, Risk, and business leaders to deliver measurable value, robust controls, and a multi-year roadmap that scales with Symetra's growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive procurement experience with leadership responsibility for a complex enterprise function.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience leading diverse teams.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and senior executives.
• Experience in procurement transformation, governance, and risk management.
• Background in procurement technology implementation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Staff management: recruit and develop strategic procurement staff with clear accountability.
• Lead end-to-end procurement process improvements across sourcing, contracting, renewals, and supplier management.
• Develop and execute enterprise procurement strategy and multi-year roadmap.
• Manage enterprise supplier strategy, performance, and governance with contractual protections.
• Partner with Law, Finance, IT, Risk, and business leaders to align procurement with enterprise priorities.
• Oversee technology modernization of procurement platforms and data analytics to improve visibility and efficiency.
• Deliver measurable procurement value through savings, cost avoidance, and process efficiency.
