Job summary

Symetra seeks an experienced Assistant Vice President of Procurement to lead the enterprise procurement function and partner with senior leaders across the organization. You will balance long-term strategy with day-to-day execution to deliver measurable business value and strong governance.

The role covers policies, sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and procurement technology, with a focus on creating an operating model that enables strategic value and timely execution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management or related field.
• 5+ years of people leadership for a complex enterprise function.
• Experience in regulated industries, financial services or insurance preferred.
• Ability to lead enterprise transformation and procurement technology programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of enterprise procurement including policies, processes, sourcing, contracting and supplier management.
• Partner with Law, Finance, Technology, Risk and other leaders to establish governance and controls.
• Develop a multi-year procurement roadmap with clear objectives and accountability.
• Drive modernization of procurement platforms, data analytics, and processes.
