Aereos, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Director of Engineering to build and lead the engineering function across precision, build-to-print manufacturing, and DoD programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years in aerospace/defense manufacturing with 3–5 years in engineering leadership.
• Experience building or scaling an engineering team/function.
• Strong working knowledge of precision manufacturing processes and GD&T.
• Experience with ITAR/EAR export controls and CUI handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering across three divisions, setting direction, priorities, and standards.
• Build out the engineering organization: roles, descriptions, and hiring for managers and engineers.
• Own product lifecycle processes: design, drawing control, ECN, first article, and sustainment engineering.
• Oversee build-to-print manufacturing engineering ensuring conformance to drawings and GD&T.
• Ensure adherence to AS9100, DoD/government contract requirements, and data packages.
• Partner across PM, QA, and Operations to resolve issues and support new programs.
• Lead MRO/spares engineering including reverse engineering and obsolescence mgmt.
• Ensure compliance with ITAR/EAR and CUI handling for DoD programs.
• Develop budgets, staffing plans, and capital requests; report KPIs to execs.
• Mentor staff and foster a culture of rigor and continuous improvement.
• Represent engineering in audits and customer/supplier interactions.
