Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in Tulsa, OK seeks a Director of Engineering to lead design, manufacturing, and testing of critical aerospace components. You will establish policies, set goals, and coordinate activities to deliver high-quality products while expanding DER repairs and FAA-compliant processes.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strategic vision, strong communication, and the ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team with 5–10 direct reports. Some travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• At least 10 years related experience with 5–10 years in a management role.
• Experience with FAA, EASA, and DOT regulations for aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Directs department activities and develops policies for product design and testing.
• Forecasts operating costs and directs budget preparation for the engineering group.
• Communicates feasibility, costs, and customer needs to management and stakeholders.
• Sets goals and coordinates with cross-functional teams to improve quality.
• Leads adoption of new technologies and AI tools to boost productivity.
