Job summary

Blitzy in Cambridge, MA seeks a Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to lead and grow an embedded engineering practice across enterprise accounts. You will manage a team of Forward Deployed Software Engineers while staying close to hands-on work to maintain credibility with customer teams.

You will drive delivery excellence, establish engagement standards, and partner with product, sales, and executives to shape growth for the FDE function.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in customer-facing, embedded, or professional services engineering environments.
• Proven experience standing up a delivery framework from scratch.
• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership capacity.
• Fluency across the modern enterprise technology stack: cloud infrastructure, APIs, microservices, CI/CD, and AI/ML integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Forward Deployed Software Engineers embedded across customer environments.
• Set standards for customer engagement, and delivery rigor across all active accounts and engineering quality.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex integration or delivery challenges.
• Balance multiple concurrent engagements, ensuring each is appropriately scoped and resourced.
• Own senior relationships at key accounts, engaging primarily at the VP Engineering and Director level.
• Participate in architecture reviews, sprint planning, and technical decision-making alongside customer teams.
• Lead business reviews that translate technical delivery progress into measurable business outcomes.
• Support pre-sales efforts for new enterprise accounts by bringing delivery credibility to the conversation.
