Blitzy in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Head of Forward Deployed Engineering to lead and grow our embedded engineering practice across enterprise accounts. This player-coach role blends hands-on delivery with strategic client partnership.

You will manage a team of Forward Deployed Software Engineers and engage with VP-level stakeholders, earning credibility through both technical and delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading teams in customer-facing or embedded environments.
• Ability to stand up delivery frameworks from scratch.
• 10+ years of software engineering with 3+ years in technical leadership.
• Fluency across cloud, APIs, microservices, CI/CD and AI/ML integrations.
• Strong communication skills across engineering to VP levels.
• Experience with IDEs and code-assistant tools in dev workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of Forward Deployed Software Engineers.
• Set standards for customer engagement and delivery rigor across accounts.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex integrations.
• Balance concurrent engagements with proper scoping and resourcing.
• Own senior relationships at key accounts with VP/Director levels.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making.
• Lead business reviews translating delivery progress into outcomes.
• Support pre-sales with delivery credibility.
