Job summary

Exa, based in San Francisco, is seeking a Head of Developer Relations to lead community, evangelism, and ecosystem strategy for our AI-enabled search platform. You will build a hands-on DevRel function, hire and coach advocates, and drive integration partnerships across frameworks and tooling.

You'll own programs that convert developers into advocates, shape reference demos, and gather feedback to improve the product and developer experience. This role is SF HQ-based.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across developer relations, marketing, or engineering with public presence.
• Craft as a communicator to developers: talks, workshops, streams, or writing.
• Engineering credibility with AI stack: LLMs, agents, and retrieval.
• Track record building community from an early stage.
• Experience driving ecosystem or integration partnerships to shipped code.
• Experience hiring or mentoring DevRel talent.

Responsibilities

• Own developer community and evangelism: events, hackathons, meetups, and open source presence.
• Own ecosystem and integration partnerships: tool integrations from convo to shipped code.
• Own developer awareness and advocacy programs: champions, ambassadors, advocates.
• Own education and demos: reference apps, demos, workshops, talks.
• Team building: hire and lead a growing DevRel team.
• Product feedback loop: capture onboarding, API ergonomics, docs gaps, fixes shipped.
