Job summary

Exa is hiring a Developer Advocate to build demos, reference applications, and integrations that showcase our API to developers. You’ll present talks, streams, and workshops, and engage with communities to drive adoption.

You’ll work with LLMs, retrieval, and agents, translating what you build into content for SEO and AEO while collaborating with the Head of DevRel. This role is in-person in SF or NYC.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as a software engineer, developer advocate, or a mix, with code you can show us.
• Real fluency in the AI stack. You have built with LLMs, agents, and retrieval, and you can speak about what worked and what didn't.
• Public artifacts: repos, talks, streams, tutorials, or side projects.
• Strong live communication. You can teach something technical to a room and hold their attention.
• Genuine enthusiasm for helping other developers, including the unglamorous version of that in a support thread at 9pm.

Responsibilities

• Build demos and reference applications: a growing library of working code that shows Exa at its best.
• Give technical talks and workshops: in-person and video, high-quality delivery.
• Maintain community presence and support: be genuinely useful in public forums and respond effectively.
• Develop integrations with popular frameworks and tools in partnership with the Head of DevRel.
• Capture developer feedback and report what breaks and what a new developer would need.
