Job summary

Exa, headquartered in San Francisco, seeks a Head of Developer Relations to lead community building and developer advocacy for its AI-driven search platform. You will hire and mentor a DevRel team, own evangelism, and drive integrations across frameworks and tools used by developers.

You will own reference demos, workshops, and live talks, partnering with product and engineering to reduce friction and improve API ergonomics.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across developer relations, developer marketing, or engineering with public presence.
• Strong ability to communicate with developers through talks, demos, workshops, streams, or writing.
• Engineering credibility with AI stack; ability to discuss LLMs, agents, and retrieval.

Responsibilities

• Own developer community and evangelism: spaces, hackathons, meetups, talks, and open source presence.
• Own ecosystem and integration partnerships: tool integrations, frameworks, SDKs, IDEs, and platform integrations.
• Lead developer awareness and advocacy programs: champions, ambassadors, and community contributors.
• Own developer education and demos: reference apps, demos, workshops, and live talks.
• Build and scale a DevRel team: hire, lead, and set high standards.
• Create a feedback loop: capture onboarding, API ergonomics, and documentation gaps.
