Job summary

Veeam Software is seeking a hands-on, senior engineering leader to head two core systems in the Data Command Center: Knowledge Graph and hyperscale data lake integrations. You will set direction, grow multiple teams, and deliver reliable, secure systems while fostering an AI-first engineering culture.

You will guide graph modeling, data sources, and access controls at enterprise scale, while advancing tooling like Claude/Copilot with guardrails for quality and security.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of software engineering experience in data infrastructure or distributed data platforms.
• 6+ years of engineering leadership experience, including scaling multiple teams.
• Strong production experience with Amazon Neptune and/or Neo4j, including scalability and operations.
• Proven ability to lead graph modeling for complex domains, including lineage and permissions at enterprise scale.
• Deep knowledge of Gremlin, Cypher/openCypher, and/or SPARQL, with performance tuning.
• Experience with data lakes/lakehouses (Delta Lake, Iceberg, Parquet) across major cloud platforms.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems using Spark, Flink, or Presto/Trino.
• Strong Go and/or Python backend experience, ability to review designs and unblock teams.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools and setting standards for secure/high-quality AI code.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and end-to-end architecture for the Knowledge Graph at enterprise scale.
• Guide the evolution of the graph schema for data sources, identities, access, classifications, and lineage.
• Own strategy for hyperscale lake and lakehouse integrations and connectors.
• Drive performance and reliability including indexing, partitioning, and query planning.
• Build and scale an AI-first engineering approach with guardrails for security and quality.
• Invest in reusable engineering building blocks to accelerate teams.
• Own delivery outcomes: roadmap execution, operational readiness, incident learning, cross-team alignment.
• Hire, coach, and develop leaders with clear growth paths.
