Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Director, Data Foundations for Commercial Banking to lead a highly skilled team delivering trusted, scalable data assets that power reporting, analytics, AI, and strategic decisions.

You will own end-to-end data lifecycle, set standards, and partner with analytics, AI, Technology and Data Governance to modernize data platforms while ensuring security and compliance across client, financial, and activity data.

Qualifications

• 9+ years in data management or data engineering with leadership of data teams.
• Strong SQL and Python abilities.
• Experience with cloud platforms and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Foundations strategy, architecture and roadmaps for curated data assets.
• Oversee ETL, pipelines, data operations and data lifecycle management.
• Drive modernization, platform strategy and AI-ready data capability.
• Enable data literacy, governance, and transparent data requests with clear SLAs.
• Oversee business-managed applications and ensure alignment with risk and technology standards.
• Build and grow a high-performing data team and foster a culture of ownership and quality.
