Job summary

BMO is seeking a Director, Data Foundations, Automation & Information Infrastructure to lead a high‑performing data team across Commercial Banking in the US and Canada. The role drives end‑to‑end data lifecycle, from requirements and modeling to ETL pipelines and trusted data products, enabling reporting, analytics, and AI across the organization.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of experience in data management, data engineering or a related field, including leadership of data teams.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and modern data programming languages such as Python.
• Experience with cloud and modern data platforms.
• Working knowledge of master data, metadata, semantic layer and data governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the Data Foundations strategy and roadmap, aligned to business and enterprise data priorities.
• Lead the design, development and operation of ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Manage data architecture, data models and data sharing standards for curated data assets.
• Oversee modernization of data platforms and adoption of AI-enabled capabilities.
• Promote data literacy and self-service through documentation and data dictionaries.
• Oversee a portfolio of business‑managed applications aligned to data and risk standards.
