Met Council seeks a seasoned Senior Director of Data & AI Systems to own the long-term vision for data architecture, information systems, and responsible AI adoption. This hands-on leadership role will unify data across core platforms, strengthen governance, and enable trustworthy reporting and AI capabilities for New York City's client network.

The role leads an in-house tech team and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver scalable, accessible systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology product and/or project-management experience
• 7+ years in data, technology, or systems leadership preferred
• Data architecture and systems integration experience—demonstrated ownership of data platform integration
• Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree or technical certifications a plus
• Commitment to continuous learning via workshops, conferences, courses, and certifications

Responsibilities

• Own Salesforce data environments and ensure governance across departments
• Define data architecture to meet programmatic needs and BI reporting
• Oversee pipelines, middleware, and warehousing for organization-wide analytics
• Lead data operations and analytics with strategic direction and ROI tracking
• Coordinate BI tool adoption (e.g., Tableau) across the organization
• Foster cross-department collaboration by integrating systems for seamless data sharing
