Job summary

GreenState Credit Union seeks a VP of Credit Risk Management who will design, implement, and oversee underwriting for Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial lending. You will lead policy development, ensure regulatory adherence, and drive risk-adjusted profitability across the portfolio.

As a senior leader, you will guide underwriting teams, collaborate with Lending, Operations, and Legal, and report to the CRO. This role demands deep expertise in ATR/QM, Reg B, FCRA, and CRE/CI underwriting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in credit underwriting management within a bank or credit union.
• Minimum of 5+ years experience at a Director level or higher.
• Deep knowledge of Commercial (C&I/CRE), Mortgage, and Consumer loan product underwriting.
• Strong understanding of financial services rules and regulations (ATR/QM, Reg B, FCRA).
• Comprehensive knowledge of valuation methodologies and appraisal standards applicable to both commercial and residential properties.
• Familiarity with loan origination systems (LOS), data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee credit underwriting strategies across Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial lending.
• Serve as voting member of Loan Committee on complex decisions.
• Ensure policies and procedures comply with regulatory standards.
• Provide regular portfolio risk reporting to Executive Leadership.
• Collaborate with Lending, Operations, Risk Analytics, Collections, and Legal to maximize recoveries.
