Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. in Columbus, OH seeks a Director of Software Engineering within the Digital Technology team to lead a technical area and drive impact across departments.

You will own the engineering strategy for a Content and Experimentation platform, partner with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to define roadmaps, SLAs, and measurable outcomes, and drive AWS-based delivery with security by design.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain.
• Experience leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled engineering practices (using enterprise‑authorized tools) across teams, including defining operating expectations and measuring outcomes.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use and control expectations in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, resiliency/security implications, and governance.
• Practical cloud native experience and expert knowledge of AWS services and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
• Accountable for decisions influencing resources, budget, and operational execution of processes.
• Sets direction and governance for agentic AI-enabled engineering and SDLC automation within a technical area.
• Applies knowledge of the SDLC toolchain to improve automation and support capacity unlock initiatives at scale.
• Governance accountability for coding decisions, cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
• Owns the engineering strategy and execution for a Content and Experimentation platform, enabling scalable delivery and rapid iteration via experimentation.
• Partners with Product, Design, Data/Analytics, and Marketing to define roadmaps, SLAs/SLOs, and measurable outcomes.
