Job summary

American Estate & Trust, Inc. seeks a thoughtful compliance leader to own the program end to end as the board-appointed BSA/AML Officer, reporting directly to the CEO.

You will protect the company while enabling compliant growth and bring well-reasoned, documented positions to auditors and regulators. You’ll own policies, regulatory filings with the Nevada FID, annual audits, and a modernized fraud/BSA monitoring program with AI.

Qualifications

• Named BSA/AML officer at a trust company, bank, or MSB.
• Experience leading regulatory exams and audits.
• Strong analytical judgment on novel assets and business models.
• People leadership experience.
• Daily use of Claude or similar AI tools with real examples.
• Familiarity with self-directed IRAs, prohibited transactions, UBTI, or precious metals is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own our compliance program, including all written policies and procedures.
• Manage the relationship with the Nevada Financial Institutions Division, including regulatory filings, licenses, and renewals.
• Oversee annual FID and BSA audits, and remediation of findings.
• Lead fraud and BSA/AML monitoring, including modernization with automation and AI.
• Oversee SAR and other FinCEN reporting.
• Develop investment review standards and lead the Operations team that performs reviews.
• Conduct risk evaluations of new partners and periodic re-reviews of onboarded businesses.
• Provide board reporting on the BSA program, risk assessments, and policies.
• Manage company insurance policies.
