Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Head of Competitive Intelligence to build and lead the CompIntel function across priority competitors and market opportunities. You will translate technical competitor evolution and pricing into actionable insights for Product, GTM, Sales Engineering, and leadership.

The role requires deep technical fluency, hands-on leadership, and the ability to synthesize diverse evidence into clear, executive-ready recommendations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, technical product strategy, or related enterprise software work.
• Strong technical fluency in observability, cloud infrastructure, security, or enterprise SaaS.
• Excellent executive writing skills and ability to produce concise memos and briefs.

Responsibilities

• Own the recurring competitive radar for priority competitors, including taxonomy and evidence standards.
• Produce competitive deep dives, gap analyses, briefs, and opportunity assessments linked to product domains.
• Translate findings into roadmap recommendations and product-facing guidance for leadership.
• Build and maintain a central CompIntel repository with profiles, sources, and briefs.
• Convert validated findings into GTM-ready handoffs for battlecards and field enablement.
• Synthesize signals from product, engineering, sales, customer success, and analyst materials.
• Partner with product management to frame competitive questions and connect findings to prioritization.
