Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Head of Competitive Intelligence to lead a world-class CI function guiding product strategy, GTM, and executive decision-making. You will build systems and processes to track market signals, competitive dynamics, and strategic opportunities.

This is a senior, cross-functional strategy role working with Product, GTM, Research, and Leadership to deliver actionable insights and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in competitive intelligence or related analytical roles.
• Experience building a CI function from the ground up.
• Exceptional analytical and structured thinking; distill complex markets.
• Strong understanding of enterprise software, AI platforms, SaaS, or cloud tech.
• Experience producing executive-facing strategic analyses and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Build and own CI strategy and operating model.
• Develop comprehensive competitive assessments and market reviews.
• Create executive-ready insights influencing product strategy and pricing.
• Develop competitive messaging for Sales, Marketing, CS, and Partnerships.
• Monitor competitor moves and synthesize into strategic recommendations.
• Establish repeatable CI processes and tooling across the company.
