Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Controls to oversee the Automation & Controls team and align with engineering to drive innovation and manufacturing optimization. You will influence capital planning and champion cross-functional collaboration to support production facilities.

You will lead a team, manage budgets and projects, and promote safety and continuous improvement while partnering with IT, R&D, and operations to maintain high standards across locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
• Proven experience leading a team directly or indirectly.
• Proven relationship building and partnerships.
• Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and advanced diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of Automation and Controls group.
• Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans for facilities.
• Collaborate with IT, Process Services, Corporate Eng., R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
• Oversee budgets and capital projects for Automation and Controls.
• Guide engineering practices and ensure documentation of controls systems.
• Lead safety culture and promote continuous education in emerging technologies.
