Job summary

SustainableHR PEO & Recruiting seeks an experienced Director of Compliance to lead regulatory efforts for an affordable housing portfolio. The role oversees LIHTC, HUD and Rural Development compliance, conducts audits, and implements policies to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local requirements.

The position manages a four-person team, drives continuous improvement, and collaborates with property management to maintain high compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years managing a compliance department in affordable housing or property management.
• Extensive knowledge of LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development and Fair Housing requirements.
• Experience supervising and developing compliance professionals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance with LIHTC (Section 42), HUD (Section 8), RD and Public Housing programs.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
• Manage audits, reporting, and corrective action plans.
• Coordinate with agencies and auditors during reviews.
• Lead and develop a four-person compliance team.
