Job summary

Related Affordable is seeking an Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist located in CT or MA to ensure programs (LIHTC, PBV, RAD, HUD) remain compliant. You report to the Director of Regulatory Compliance and work autonomously with teams nationwide.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in HUD LIHTC programs, COS certification, and knowledge of EIV and Fair Housing rules. Expect travel and a strong focus on accurate reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience with Project Based Section 8 HUD, LIHTC and other affordable housing programs is required.
• Knowledge of HUD 4350.3, EIV, Reasonable Accommodation Requests, LIHTC income limits and rent calculations, Fair Housing, Real Estate Licensing.
• Proven ability to build trust with diverse communities and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and implement changes in HUD and LIHTC regulations and local requirements.
• Maintain proper maintenance of tenant files and records per HUD and LIHTC rules.
• Review move-in and transfer files for eligibility.
• Review initial qualifying files for accuracy and program compliance; report status to Director of Compliance.
• Perform onsite and remote audits to confirm compliance and close findings.
• Monitor waitlists, LAP plans and EIV binders for regulatory compliance.
• Prepare responses to LIHTC audits and MORs; coordinate with teams to implement corrections.
• Draft timely responses to agency audits and coordinate with Affordable Programming.
• Hold weekly office hours to assist operations with questions and corrections.
• Stay current with federal regulations affecting affordable housing programs.
