Job summary

FreeWheel, a Comcast company, seeks a Senior Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead a team of architects supporting FreeWheel’s product portfolio and guide technology direction across Product, Engineering, Security, Data, and Operations.

The role focuses on aligning architecture with product strategy, creating scalable designs, and driving modernization while balancing speed, quality, security, and cost effectiveness. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, or enterprise architecture, including leading architecture for distributed, high-scale platforms.
• 10+ years of people leadership experience
• Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering leadership to define architecture strategy, roadmaps, and execution plans.
• Strong knowledge of modern cloud-native architecture, including microservices, Kubernetes, APIs, event-driven systems, and security-by-design.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and manage a team of Enterprise Architects aligned to Product domains.
• Define and drive the Enterprise Architecture vision, operating model, and engagement approach.
• Serve as a strategic technology advisor translating market opportunities into architecture direction and investment.
• Oversee creation of solution blueprints, reference architectures, ADRs, roadmaps, and target-state designs.
• Establish architecture governance mechanisms including reviews, standards, and lifecycle oversight.
