Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Senior Director, Enterprise Architecture to lead a team of Enterprise Architects supporting FreeWheel’s product portfolio and to provide technical direction to the Engineering organization in New York.

You will shape architecture strategy, establish governance, align product and engineering priorities, and drive modernization while partnering with Product, Security, Data, and Operations to ensure scalable, secure, and cost-efficient technology choices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years in software/enterprise architecture, leading architecture for distributed, high-scale platforms.
• 10+ years of people leadership managing senior architects or equivalent.
• Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering to define strategy, roadmaps, and execution.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture, microservices, Kubernetes, APIs, event-driven systems, and security-by-design.
• Ability to evaluate tradeoffs and communicate decisions to executives, product, and engineering.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of Enterprise Architects aligned to product domains.
• Define EA vision, operating model, and engagement with product/engineering.
• Advise leadership on architecture direction, priorities, and investments.
• Create solution blueprints, ADRs, roadmaps, and target-state designs.
• Establish architecture governance, reviews, standards, and lifecycle oversight.
• Guide architecture for distributed, cloud-native ad tech platforms.
• Balance delivery speed with maintainability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with Infra/Platform to align on modernization and integration.
• Shape portfolio roadmaps to reduce debt and enable reusable platforms.
• Evaluate build/buy/extend decisions based on value and risk.
• Explore generative AI opportunities with governance for AI systems.
• Drive improvements in architecture maturity, quality, reliability, and cost transparency.
• Represent EA in leadership forums and cross-functional planning.
• Build partnerships across Product, Commercial, Engineering, Security, Data, Operations.
• Mentor architects and senior technical leaders.
• Exercise independent judgment; punctual attendance; perform other duties.
