Job summary

New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) is seeking a Head Nurse (RN) to lead nursing operations in Brooklyn, NY. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care with efficient, timely, and knowledgeable service. Responsibilities include shift-based nursing management, staffing, medication orders, and staff training.

Requirements include a valid NYS RN license, at least two years in a managerial role, and BLS certification. EMR proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License is required.
• Minimum of two years in a managerial role.
• BLS certification required.
• Excellent assessment, communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with EMR is preferred.
• Familiarity with PPE when handling cytotoxic agents and bloodborne pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Manage all nursing duties during each shift, including assignments, medication orders and staff oversight.
• Train new hires and maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
• Ensure patient satisfaction by delivering timely and knowledgeable care and upholding our values.

Job Description

Head Nurse (RN)

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Working Days: 4 Days ( Thurs - Regular Day Off)

Hours: 8am-6pm

Organization: New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In This Role, You Will

Manage all aspects of nursing responsibilities during each shift. Including and not limited to, assigning patient assignments, medication orders, training of new hires and management of a safe environment for staff and patients alike with focus on providing efficient, timely and knowledgeable care while ensuring patient satisfaction in every interaction. The Head Nurse is responsible for making sure those values are reflected in their staff at all times.

We Require

• Valid New York State RN License
• Must have a minimum of two years in a managerial role.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
