New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) in Bronx, NY seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our oncology care team. You will administer chemotherapy and biologic therapies, monitor patients, and collaborate with physicians and support staff to deliver compassionate, evidence-based cancer care.

The role requires NYS RN license, BLS, strong assessment and communication skills, EMR proficiency, and physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License.
• BLS certification required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to NYCBS locations for patient care needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as prescribed by a physician.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs and document in the MAR.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise.
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol.
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness.
• Educate patients and families about treatment expectations and follow-up care.
• Monitor patient status during administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive meds.

Job Description

Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Bronx, NY

Hours/Days: 2/10 hour shifts, Wed-Thurs 8a-6p

Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS)

In This Role, You Will:

• Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician.
• Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues.
• Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge.
• Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol.
• Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness.
• Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations.
• Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications.
• Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication.
• Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services.

We Require:

• Valid New York State RN License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
• Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
