Job summary

Loudoun County Government is hiring a Head Lifeguard for the Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center in Sterling, VA. The position oversees part-time lifeguard staff, ensures water safety, and manages daily pool operations including pool chemistry and pump room tasks.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and organizational skills, with priorities on safety, training, and delivering enjoyable aquatic experiences. Schedule includes weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of direct aquatics experience including aquatics programming and pool facility management.
• Lifeguarding Instructor, AED and Supplemental Oxygen preferred.
• Water Safety Instructor and Certified Pool Operator credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising Lifeguard staff.
• Maintain records of staff certifications and assist with onboarding.
• Reconfigure pool for activities and events, and assist with special events.
• Observe and enforce pool rules and safety policies; provide emergency care as needed.
• Utilize scheduling software and maintain aquatic facility records; provide excellent customer service.
