Boston College Libraries seeks a collaborative, innovative Head Librarian of the Educational Resource Center (ERC) to lead staff, services, and collections, and to advance library initiatives. The ERC serves the Lynch School of Education and Human Development, supporting teaching, learning, and research.

The Head Librarian also serves as primary library liaison to LSEHD, providing advanced research assistance, library instruction, faculty outreach, and collection development for the education

Formación

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA‑accredited library school.
• Five years of post‑master’s professional experience in education or librarianship.
• Leadership or supervisory experience with budget oversight.
• Knowledge of educational research methodologies and information resources.
• Experience providing research assistance and instructional services to faculty and students.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Preferred: experience as an education liaison librarian or curriculum materials specialist.
• Three+ years of management experience in an academic or educational setting.
• Experience with teacher education programs or curriculum collections.

Responsabilidades

• Provide vision, leadership, and management for ERC operations, services, collections, and facilities.
• Supervise and mentor the ERC team.
• Manage library operations budgets, student employment budgets, and collection funds.
• Lead collection development for educational resources including print and electronic materials.
• Provide research consultations, reference services, and instructional programs supporting education research.
• Promote awareness and use of ERC collections and services through outreach and engagement.
• Participate in library‑wide strategic planning, committees, and professional organizations.
