Job summary

Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education seeks a collaborative, user‑centered Librarian to develop and promote the Library’s general collections to support HGSE research, teaching, and learning.

The role reports to Gutman Library’s Senior Associate Director and collaborates with multiple library teams and Harvard Library units to ensure accessible, compliant resources and impactful collection strategies across education and behavioral sciences disciplines.

Qualifications

• Basic MLIS degree required.
• Minimum of three years related experience post‑MLIS.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in team environments.

Responsibilities

• Develops collection strategies to support curricular needs and faculty scholarship.
• Manages collection expenditures and collaborates with library leadership and finance units.
• Coordinates purchasing workflows, renewals, and access for education materials and Open Education resources.
• Leads collection management and access team, aligning with HGSE and Harvard Library priorities.
• Supports course materials workflows, licensing, and digitization projects as needed.
