Boston College Libraries seeks a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented leader to serve as Head Librarian of the Educational Resource Center (ERC). The role oversees ERC operations, staff, collections, services, and facilities, while representing the ERC in BC Libraries and building strong relationships with the Lynch School of Education and Human Development.

Qualificações

• MLS/MLIS degree from an ALA-accredited institution or an advanced degree in Education with significant library experience.
• Minimum of five years of post-master’s professional experience in education, librarianship, or a closely related academic setting.
• Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, including staff management and budget oversight.
• Knowledge of educational research methodologies, trends, instructional practices, and information resources.
• Experience providing research assistance, information literacy instruction, and faculty support.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

Responsabilidades

• Provide vision, leadership, and management for all ERC operations, services, collections, and facilities
• Supervise and mentor the ERC team
• Manage library operations budgets, student employment budgets, and collection funds
• Lead collection development for educational research resources, including print and electronic monographs, and journals
• Provide research consultations, reference services, and instructional programs that support student and faculty research in education and related fields
• Promote awareness and use of library collections and services through outreach, communication, and engagement activities
• Participate in library-wide strategic planning, committees, task forces, and professional organizations
