Job summary

Boston College Law Library seeks a Legal Information Librarian to join the Teaching & Research team. The role teaches legal research in credit-bearing courses, offers reference support to the Law School community, and collaborates with faculty on scholarship and classroom instruction.

Responsibilities include developing library services, participating in outreach within the law school, identifying new resources, and serving on committees.

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• MLS from ALA-accredited library school.
• Experience in legal research and reference services.
• Experience teaching or instruction in multiple modalities.
• Interest in curriculum development, teaching, and assessment.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team and diverse environment.
• Commitment to inclusive learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver legal research instruction in credit-bearing courses and workshops.
• Provide research and reference support to the BC Law School community.
• Liaise with assigned faculty for scholarship and teaching support.
• Contribute to development of new library services and programs.
• Participate in outreach activities within the law school.
• Identify and evaluate new resources through collection development.
• Serve on library, law school, and other committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
