Job summary

Ascent Hospitality seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to lead hotel maintenance, oversee preventative maintenance, and coordinate renovations and new construction projects. You will supervise the maintenance staff, ensure compliance with safety and building codes, and manage budgets for efficient operations.

The role requires hands-on expertise with HVAC, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems, plus strong leadership and communication skills to train staff and collaborate with management.

Qualifications

• College degree or relevant engineering courses preferred.
• HVAC, plumbing and carpentry certifications or experience.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in hotel maintenance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth hotel operation and guest experience.
• Monitor compliance with building codes and safety standards.
• Manage maintenance staff and coordinate renovations and repairs.
• Oversee equipment operation including HVAC, boilers, and life safety systems.
• Prepare and manage budgets and labor costs.
• Coordinate emergency procedures and drills.
